The decision of the Irish people to vote ‘Yes’ in the Fiscal Treaty Referendum is a positive development for Ireland, the agri-food sector and farm families according to Mr. John Comer, President of ICMSA.  While the current challenges remain for the Irish and EU economies, we can now move forward with a greater degree of certainty.

Mr. Comer said that there are many important issues facing us over the next twelve months with the EU Budget and the CAP negotiations key issues for the farming community and we expect the Government to focus now on these issues to deliver the best possible deal for Ireland and Irish farm families.
