Comer says ICMSA will give the Glanbia proposal ‘the time and concentration required’
Commenting on the proposed Joint Venture, ICMSA President John Comer said that the matter was complex and the implications for the farmers concerned were considerable. He said that ICMSA would be giving the matter the time and concentration it required and would be consulting with their members supplying Glanbia. As a first step he confirmed that ICMSA had met senior Glanbia management on Wednesday (yesterday) afternoon and discussed the matter with particular reference to concerns regarding the JV’s ability to pay a competitive milk price going forward and also the financial structure of the new venture.
Ends 29 August 2012.
