ICMSA President expresses sadness at death of Sean MacConnell – “A superb journalist whose accounts were considered definitive”

The President of ICMSA, John Comer, said that everyone involved in Irish farming would be saddened to hear of the untimely death of Mr MacConnell. Mr Comer said that Mr MacConnell had reported and commented on the farming sector for decades and his accounts were considered definitive. “Sean MacConnell was a superb journalist and his writing on every subject – not just farming or agri-business – was engaging and brilliant. It is especially sad to note his passing so early into what should have been a full and well-deserved retirement and my condolences, and the sympathy of all in ICMSA, go to his wife and family”, said Mr Comer.
