The President of the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association (ICMSA) has welcomed the news that the Japanese market is now re-opened to Irish beef exports, John Comer, described it as “another substantial step forward for the beef sector and the wider agri-food sector”. Mr Comer noted that very few countries were deemed to meet the standards required by Japanese authorities – Ireland becomes only the fifth -and for Ireland to join this elite group was testament to our growing reputation as producers of superb food and sustainable, technically excellent, farming. ICMSA congratulated the Taoiseach, Minister Coveney and all responsible for this latest positive market capture.
