Commenting on the visit of Chinese Premier, Li Keqiang to the dairy farm of Mary & Cathal Garvey near Cong  in County Mayo today, which he attended, John Comer, the President of the ICMSA, said the images of so senior a Chinese politician visiting our dairy farms and viewing our largely unique grass-based production system will be of immeasurable benefit to the branding and reputation of Irish food in the Chinese markets on which so many Irish companies are expending such a concentrated effort. Mr Comer said that Irish dairy products already commanded a premium in the Chinese markets and Premier Li Keqiang’s visit would only copper fasten the image of our foodstuffs as world-leaders in terms of their excellence and highest-standard, environmentally-sensitive production.
