ICMSA Young Farmers Forum Webinar – Wednesday 28th of January 2026 @ 8pm via Zoom

Dear Young Farmer,

We would like to thank you for your attendance on our first Young Farmer webinar of 2026. It was a very informative event with comprehensive data and knowledge from Joe Patton of Teagasc and Lucas Fuess of Rabo Bank.

Following on from this, we have set a date for our next webinar before the onset of the busy spring calving period.

Based on the feedback received from a survey carried out in November 2025 and from the previous webinar, we have decided to hold a subsequent webinar on Wednesday 28^th of January at 8.00pm covering the following topics:

• Advice on preparation for the spring calving period.
• Care of the new born calf to optimise performance pre sale or pre weaning.
• Tips on scour and pneumonia prevention.
• Care of the freshly calved cow.

Guest speaker on the night will be Mr Eamon O Connell, MVB Cert DHH, Partner in Summerhill Veterinary Clinic, Nenagh Co Tipperary who may also be better known for his intuitive, honest and informative columns weekly on the Farming Independent.

After this webinar, we will take a break until the peak of calving has surpassed but will in turn be followed by subsequent online webinars on further topics of interest based on the survey over the coming months.You are receiving this email based on your attendance at the previous event or you have been put forward for this Forum in consultation with your County Executive Officers or by your local Member Relations Officer.  This will be an excellent opportunity to hear expert advice and analysis on the year ahead and we would love for you to participate in the webinar.

To register for the webinar and receive a login link, email your name, address and phone number to meetings@icmsa.ie or send your interest via WhatsApp to 087 1622049 by Monday 26^th of January at 5pm.   Once you are registered, you will receive an email on the day before the event with a ‘join event’ box to access the event on Wednesday evening. If there are other young farmers that you think might be interested in attending the event, feel free to register them for the event with the details above.  

As this will be run as a webinar, your attendance can be anonymous to other attendees apart from the organisers within ICMSA.   If you have questions on the night, they can be asked during the webinar, submitted via a chat box or can be forwarded in confidence to the organisers in ICMSA before the event via the following email address: meetings@icmsa.ie.
